Education

M.S. in Counseling:  Marriage and Family Therapy, San Diego State University

B.A. in Psychology and Chicano Studies, California States University Fresno

How I work with Students:

I come from a holistic and trauma-informed approach with an emphasis on compassion. It is my goal to create a safe environment in which each student feels welcomed, understood and accepted as their true self. This will allow me to help tailor your sessions to meet your specific needs.
I provide support with managing symptoms of trauma, anxiety and depression by teaching coping skills such as: butterfly hug (EMDR based), guided meditation, container exercise, body scans, progressive muscle relaxation and breathing exercises.
I work with all students and have specialty interests that include Trauma, Work-Trauma, Inter-generational trauma, Historical trauma, Polyvagal Theory, Internal Family System, Social Justice, Impact of language, Somatic therapy, Identity, LGBTQIA+

About Me

I joined UC Davis after years of providing culturally and linguistically (English & Spanish) competent therapy services to underrepresented and underserved communities in San Diego and Fresno County. For the last 4 years, I’ve primarily worked with the indigenous population in Fresno County by either providing individual therapy services or support during Gathering of Native American (GONA) youth camps.
