How I work with Students:

I collaborate with students to integrate a holistic, strengths-based, trauma-informed, and healing centered approach. Additionally, I work with a multicultural and intersectional framework providing culturally and linguistically competent therapy services. I incorporate systemic and person-centered interventions, mindfulness-based practices, cognitive behavioral therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy tools to support the student in their therapeutic process.

My aim is to empower students to achieve their personal and academic goals to overcome challenges with a deeper sense of awareness, compassion and understanding for themselves and in relationship to others. I work with all students and specialize working with the Chicanx/Latinx community, First Generation students, BIPOC mental health, life transitions, identity development, intergenerational trauma, grief/loss, anxiety and depression.

About Me

I grew up locally from a working class family in Solano County, my parents are from Mexico, I’m the eldest of four, and a proud tía/ auntie. I identify as Chicana/Latina and as a former first-generation student. For many years I worked throughout the Bay Area in public schools as a bilingual educator. As a clinician, my training has been rooted in community-based mental health services in the Mission District of San Francisco and in private practice with couples and families in the East Bay. In my free time, I enjoy dancing to African and Latin based rhythms, nature time with hikes/runs, reading and traveling.
